Animation Film Camp

Alongside the international competition program, tributes, exhibitions, and workshops that have cultivated audiences and creators for years, Animafest Cyprus in 2023 added the first International Animation Film Camp to its development activities. This animation development scheme is dedicated to young artists and art students and its organised in collaboration with the Primanima Festival in Hungary.

Young creators from Cyprus and abroad participate in the Film Camp. During their participation in workshops at both festivals, the participants have the opportunity to network with the many international guests of both festivals, the local artistic communities, and each other, receiving at the same time many valuable knowledge on various animation techniques and methods.

The first two editions of the Animation Film Camp focused on the technique of collage animation, mentored by Hungarian director Tamas Patrovitc, and animation without camera, direct animation drawn-on-film, mentored by Canadian director Steven Woloshen.
